A Cirencester wedding – The Kings Head Hotel

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to photograph Rosie and Dan’s fantastic Cirencester wedding in June this year. After initial consultations, we arranged a relaxed engagement photoshoot in the grounds of the Bathurst estate in Cirencester which was a lot of fun. They both wanted a natural and unobtrusive photographer which matches my approach perfectly, so I knew that I would enjoy the day and that we would be a good fit.

The big day started with the ceremony at Stroud Registry Office, followed by an evening reception at the Kings Head Hotel in Cirencester. I arrived at the venue and met a calm, relaxed groom waiting for his bride and I had some time to capture some images of the guests before the ceremony. I was really happy with the photos I took of the gorgeous couple as they tied the knot.

After the ceremony, we shot some group family photos outside the venue. During these times (and throughout the day), I always keep an eye out for those natural, candid moments and was happy to capture a few special moments alongside the family photos.

Before heading back to the Kings Head Hotel at Cirencester, there was a very quick moment for a few couple shots.

Rosie and Dan both looked awesome on the day and I was really pleased with how their couple images turned out. Rosie’s beautiful hair was styled by Kat Joyce, owner of Luxe in Cheltenham. You can find out more about Luxe here: Luxe Cheltenham. Rosie’s gorgeous make-up look was created by make-up artist Alexandra Sinclair, based in Cheltenham. You can see more of Alexandra’s beautiful brides on her Instagram page, @makeup_by_alexandra.s, or Facebook page, Alexandra Sinclair Makeup Artist and Tan Specialist.

After the ceremony, we headed back to the lovely Kings Head hotel in Cirencester. The hotel is a beautiful place for a wedding as it is full of character and history. This can be seen as soon as you step inside, as you are instantly presented with beautiful artwork, chandeliers and quirky features. The venue also has a wonderful terrace with views of the dramatic St. John Baptist church and the market square. This is a fantastic place to enjoy a few drinks when the weather is nice and Rosie and Dan’s guests made the most of this space.

Kings Head Hotel Wedding

In my opinion, the biggest draw of a wedding at the Kings Head Hotel is the fantastic location. The hotel is right in the heart of the beautiful market town of Cirencester. Rosie, Dan and I took advantage of this for our couple shoot and took a quick walk around the town for some photos. The walk also gave the newlyweds a chance to share a quiet, calm moment between just the two of them. There are so many picturesque places in Cirencester, from the amazing church and the beautiful Black Jack Street to the marketplace and the abbey grounds, so you really are spoilt for choice. Here are just a few of my favourite images from our wander around town:

The fun continued into the night. The drinks were flowing, dancing shoes were on and everyone was having a great time. It was a genuine pleasure to see so many smiles and so much laughter all night long.

It really was a privilege to photograph Rosie and Dan’s wedding. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and I’m so glad to have captured the day. If you are planning a wedding at the Kings Head Hotel or in the Cirencester or Cotswold area, please do get in touch.

“The photos are beautiful, and we are so pleased! Everyone has commented how you blended into the evening/day and were surprised to see a pic of themselves as they thought they’d evaded you haha! Dan and I love the photos of the day and was really pleased to have you there with us”.
